Rush Limbaugh came under fire for his rather harsh comments regarding Sandra Fluke.  As unfortunate as the comments were, I think there are a few things that we should examine.

First what did Rush say exactly?  Here is the transcript:

“What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We’re the pimps. (interruption) The johns? We would be the johns? No! We’re not the johns. (interruption) Yeah, that’s right. Pimp’s not the right word. Okay, so she’s not a slut. She’s “round heeled.” I take it back.”

Let’s talk about Sandra Fluke for a minute first.  She is no college co-ed.  In fact she isn’t much younger than my mother.  So my real question is why is a thirty-year-old woman sitting before Congress and complaining about her contraception costs?  Sandra, if you are thirty and you can’t pay nine dollars a month, then you are not responsible enough to be having sex in the first place.  It is not right for anyone to be called a slut or a prostitute, however if you are willing to put your sex life out in the public eye, then you should not be surprised.

This is not the first time something like this has happened, despite the intensity of the media.  There are several famous commentators on the left that have made even more inflammatory comments than this.  Why is it that the left suddenly cares so much for women and their struggle against misogyny?  Where were all of these concerned citizens when Bill Maher called Sarah Palin an extremely vulgar slur or when Ed Shultz referred to Laura Ingram as a “right wing slut?”

Let me tell you where they were.  They were quiet on the sidelines because they really don’t care about women’s rights nor do they care about Sandra Fluke. These outraged people are the infamous blacklisters who came to the defense of Patrick Buchanan.  This is a play to silence another champion of the right.

The late Andrew Breitbart devoted his life to fighting this type of media corruption.  The media has picked up the story and carried it like a disease. Personally, it makes me sick.

There was another news story involving a violation of women’s rights this week. A woman flying with her children was forced to use her electric breast pump in a public bathroom by the Transportation Safety Administration in order to prove it was a real pump.  The TSA would not provide her a private place to do so.  She recounted how humiliated she was while pumping breast milk for her child in full view of every other person entering that restroom.

Again these warriors for “women’s rights” are suddenly absent and so is the sycophantic mainstream media who have buried this story conveniently somewhere between personal interest stories and last nights sports scores.  Why is it that President Obama has not gotten involved in this rather offensive act of misconduct by federal law enforcement officials?  Could it be because there is no way for this woman’s misfortune to be used and twisted by the left to blackball anyone on the right?

These blacklisters are evil and un-American opportunists that seek to use imagined racism and sexism to promote their own agenda and seek to “get your mind right,” in the words of Cool Hand Luke’s infamous Captain.
