In the Trayvon Martin case, there are five things we know for certain: George Zimmerman shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, Zimmerman is Hispanic, President Obama used this case to gain favor among blacks, the mainstream media is only providing the selective information they wish to provide us with, and George Zimmerman is already guilty.

While the investigation is still ongoing, here is what we know thus far: On February 26, 2012, while walking home from a nearby convenience store, Martin was pursued by a neighborhood watch guard.  Let’s backtrack a little, though, because every detail is important.  Martin’s girlfriend (whose identity is concealed) was on the phone with him minutes before he was shot; the phone logs, exclusively obtained by ABC News, corroborate this.  In an interview with Martin’s parents’ lawyer, Martin’s girlfriend says, “He said this man was watching him, so he put his hoodie on.  He said he lost the man . . . I asked Trayvon to run . . .  but he said he was not going to run.”  Martin’s girlfriend alleges that Martin eventually began to run and thought he had lost Zimmerman, but she goes on to say that Zimmerman was back, following him.

While Martin and his girlfriend were on the phone, so was Zimmerman; he had phoned the Sanford Police Department, informing them that there had been some recent break-ins in the neighborhood and that a “suspicious guy looks like he’s up to no good or on drugs or something.”  The dispatcher asked Zimmerman, “is this guy white, black, or Hispanic?” Zimmerman said, “he looks black.”  Zimmerman went on to inform the dispatcher that Martin was coming towards him and that he had his hands in his waistband.  This is when Zimmerman stated with more certainty, “he’s a black male.”  He also stated that Martin began to run (which is what Martin’s girlfriend stated in the interview).  The dispatcher asked Zimmerman if he was following Martin, Zimmerman said “yes.” The dispatcher responded with, “we don’t need you to do that.” Zimmerman said, “ok,” but continued to pursue Martin.

Sidenote: a 911 dispatcher isn’t an authority.  When Zimmerman continued to pursue Martin, he was not breaking the law.

Zimmerman alleges that he turned to head back to his truck, but Martin’s girlfriend alleges that Zimmerman cornered Martin. Martin’s girlfriend said Martin asked, “’What are you following me for?’ Zimmerman replied, ‘What are you doing here?’   Next thing I hear is somebody pushing, and somebody pushed Trayvon because the headset just fell . . .”  According to Zimmerman’s account to authorities, Martin threw the first punch, knocked him down, continued to slam his head on the sidewalk, and tried to reach for Zimmerman’s gun.  Two eyewitnesses have come forward and both say that Zimmerman was being beaten.  One of the eyewitnesses is a 13-year-old boy whose identity was released by ABC news (Since the minor spoke out, his mother has also come forward claiming the authorities pressured him “to give more details than he actually recalled.”).  Considering the New Black Panther’s one million dollar bounty on Zimmerman’s head, this move was foolish, irresponsible, and could possibly put this minor’s life in danger.  The two continued to fight and eventually Martin was shot and killed by Zimmerman.

When the police and paramedics arrived at the scene, Martin was pronounced dead and Zimmerman was treated for his injuries. The police report states Zimmerman was bleeding from the back of the head and nose.  After receiving medical attention, he was taken in for questioning.  Zimmerman claimed self-defense and was not arrested.  The State Attorney’s office concluded that there was sufficient evidence to prove that this was a case of self-defense.  This is why so many Americans are angry.

Racial tensions are high in America, and “high” is actually an understatement.  We have the mainstream media and our elected officials to thank for that. Not only have they generated an epic race war, they have already convicted George Zimmerman in a public courtroom.

On March 22, the New Black Panther Party issued “wanted dead or alive” posters for George Zimmerman.  They then took it a step further by offering a $10,000 bounty for George Zimmerman’s capture.  They call this “street people law.”  Soon after the bounty offer, the New Black Panther Party leader Hashim Nzinga was arrested on charges of gun possession by a convicted felon.  In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, a member of the New Black Panther Party became hostile and stated “I don’t obey the white man’s law.”  They also announced that on April 9 they are planning a national “Day of Action.”  Given their history, I’m sure it will be nothing but peaceful (note my sarcasm).

The mainstream media is doing their very best to paint George Zimmerman as a crazed racist out for black blood.  From NBC news altering the 911 call Zimmerman made, to ABC news trying to make Zimmerman out to be a liar by countering Zimmerman’s claim of self-defense.  The mainstream media has proven that it is impossible for them to be objective. (ABC has since changed its tune, now that the enhanced video shows wounds to the back of Zimmerman’s head.)

President Obama could not pass up the opportunity to add fuel to the wildfire.  Now, there is nothing wrong with him commenting on this case or offering his condolences to Trayvon Martin’s parents; after all, he was asked about the case.  However, his comment, “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon,” was inappropriate on so many levels.  Of course this was gratifying to many black liberals, but I find it absolutely appalling.  Trayvon’s death was a tragedy, regardless of the color of his skin.  But I guess the racial tensions aren’t quite high enough for the President.

Martin’s death has been transformed into a political circus when it never should have been politicized in the first place.  Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson (I refuse to call them Reverend) are having a field day, but that is to be expected.  I mean, do you really expect anything more from these two?  I also expected this behavior from Rep. Bobby Rush (who is now famous for sporting a hoodie on the house floor), Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (who suggests Zimmerman broke his own nose), Rep. Hank Johnson (who says Martin was executed for “walking while black”), Rep. Frederica Wilson, and the list goes on and on.

When Zimmerman has his day in court the jury will be inclined to find him guilty because of all of the negative press.  With all of the racial hysteria and guilty verdicts being spewed from the President, our elected officials, the media, and celebrities, I’d say that’s a valid assumption.  As a nation, we will never move forward if we continue to allow those obsessed with race to cloud our vision.  A friend of mine said it best, “70 years ago white men wore hoods, exploited tragedies to push political agendas, and were known for enacting mob justice.  In 2012 many black liberals have taken to the streets in hoods, used a tragedy to push political agendas and have become synonymous with rioting and demanding mob justice. Congratulations, you have become the enemy!”
