With racial tensions in an already heightened state, President Obama continues to use divisive tactics in order to gain favor among certain ethnic groups, particularly blacks.  If there is one thing this president is good at, it’s campaigning.

In February, the president launched an “African-Americans for Obama” website.  In the promotional video ad he states, “. . . we’ve [blacks] got to decide what kind of country we want to be.  We can either settle for a country where a shrinking number of people do really well, or we can build a nation where everybody gets a fair shot.”  In other words, if black Americans wish to make it in America, then you had better vote for me.

A few days ago, President Obama launched another ad targeting blacks, this time called “We’ve Got Your Back.”  The ad, yet again, urges black Americans to support the president, so “we can finish what we started.”  In the ad, he makes empty promises; one being that by the end of the decade, he will “make sure that more of our citizens will hold a college degree than any other nation on earth.”  Is a college degree going to be of any worth if there are no jobs available?  Last I checked, the unemployment rate is still significantly high.

Both ads sound like nothing more than a broken record: more government is the answer, because you people can’t accomplish anything on your own.  The empty promises are not the real issues, though.  The issue is the notion that all blacks must support the president because he’s half black.  Can you imagine the outrage GOP nominee Mitt Romney would cause if he were to launch a “Whites Only” campaign?  He would be labeled a racist, without a doubt.

In fact, according to the Left, any opposition to the president is racist; that goes for black conservatives, too.  Earlier this year, Congressman West delivered a powerful speech to a Florida crowd.  The speech was aimed at President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and anyone on the Left with a Socialist agenda: “. . . take your message of equality and achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else.  You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.”

This speech caused an uproar on the Left.  When MSNBC’s Martin Bashir asked Congressman Jim Moran to comment on Congressman West’s speech, he said ” . . . Mr. West is not only not representative of the African-American community or of the Republican Party, let alone of the American public . . .”  West’s speech, nor the question Moran was asked had anything to do with race, yet Moran felt the need to inject racial undertones.

This is a prime example of the results of the president’s lack of leadership.  He sets the standard and our corrupt media follows in his footsteps, deeming anyone who disagrees with his policies racists.  Presidents are elected to uphold the Constitution and the Constitution was written to limit the power of the federal government, not increase it.

“As government increases, liberty decreases.”  It’s simple.  Americans who get that value the liberties that the Constitution ensures.

I am proud to say that I don’t have the president’s back, and I will be voting against him in November.  If that makes me a racist, then so be it.
