A lot of things have been revealed recently about the so-called GOP plan “to burn down your house” by President Barack Obama. His message extends to the knee-bent masses of welfare entitlement and venomous tranquility associated with the ‘freeloader class’ known as the poverty-stricken ring of our society. His constant and determined efforts to forward his flawed healthcare system, commonly known as “Obamacare,” are further thrusting our once-great nation into the throes of mediocrity that empower relatively flourishing countries such as Germany and China to rise above the highest world standards set in a time that now seems eons ago.
Obama is hijacking the reins of our country’s governance and sending the wagon toward a den of wolves. At his side, like a cat to its misguided and misinformed James Bond villain, Harry Reid spouts off propaganda to the public that is probably good enough to be worth studying by government officials in Putin’s circle over in Russia. He is just so talented at repeating the same old message again and again in different statements and answers to questions.
He is obviously a purveyor of the classic political pseudo-mind game of repeating something enough times until it becomes accepted as the truth by the general public – a strategy that is sadly working with a public who is too unwilling to learn the true facts behind our government shutdown.
These true facts have been presented publicly in forms such as Jon Stewart’s interview with Katherine Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, essentially the chief spokesperson for the act. In the interview, he stated his mutual understanding of the basic and honest gripe held by Republicans: the Obama administration refuses to allow regular citizens to opt out of the policy without penalty for one more year just like big business can do, and that is reason alone to see why trying to enact this bill in its current form is a suicide move. Big business has an army of lobbylists ready to defend their interests at the drop of a hat, a luxury that cannot be afforded by the average citizen.
It becomes clear at this point that a partial strategic motivation for moving this bill forward is to implement it before anyone can seriously voice their concerns over its provisions (e.g. then-Speaker Pelosi’s reasoning that the bill needed to be passed in order to find out what was in it). This typical liberal ploy is seen far too often in the Senate and House of Representatives and can simply no longer be tolerated by the American people. They are suffering enough at the hands of the debilitating crisis that is taking place in our great nation.
It is sad to see the Republican Party at record low approval ratings, but it does provide some comfort that Obama is also being critically scrutinized as well.
President Obama is furiously suffering the American people through a mad crusade of his mad political ideologies.
I hold out hope that the people will come around and allow their voices to be heard over their vehement opposition to a flawed, heavily government-regulated, healthcare system.
As Rand once famously said (no not that Rand):
We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force. – Ayn Rand

Regarding your commentary on Ted Cruz and by association the Tea Party I encourage all conservatives to take a long range and wider point of view:
AMAZING…when the presidential debates and campaigns raged the pollsters were predicting defeat for he president…right up to the point that on the day of the election the pollsters prdicted huge leads for Romney…of course the pollsters nd all those political pundits were wrong….so now, when all the polls and all the pundits are telling a tale of a collapse for the republicans over the defunding of Obamacare and the debt limit and the budget SOMEHOW, SUDDENLY these same pollsters and pundits are being cited as being correct this time….what?…….explain!….alright….listen….the old Republican party is dead…….perhaps the questions in the polls are improperly phrased…..it isn’t the Republicans that the Democrats have to worry about..the polls are as WRONG now as they were then…pick one poll or many…it is no longer politics as usual and short term views of what changes are on the way are useless…..Obamacare was enough of an issue that constituents wanted the congressional challengers they had elected to act as they did……the challengers were following the mandate their voters gave them……grouse all you wish to…opine loudly that the Republican strategy had no end game (an idea created from thin air by commentators, journalist and other media types who have suddenly lost their focus)…of course Obamacare was not going to be defunded or changed IMMEDIATELY….nor will so many democrats who were exposed as frauds and liars be immediately voted out of office…there are elections and changes in the congress and the presidency coming in 2014 and 2016 and beyond……what wll stand in the way of the changes….the utter failure of the members of the Republican media (as well as the liberal mainstreamers) that are currently misidentifying, mislabeling and misconstruing the issues and the actions taken by real conservatives on behalf of the “new” silent majority………it will at some point come back to cause utter disbelief and embarrassment….goodbye John McCain…goodbye Charles Krauthammer (and the rest of the old men, both politicians and media types, who didn’t understand why Obama got elected and could not understand it when it happened a second time and have yet to grab hold of and really understand the new ideas leading the charge to the front of conservatism)…….goodbye Lindsey Graham and John Boehner and Eric Kantor and on and on and on……
According to the “O-care”, I am required to subscribe to this “tax” or get fined. I do NOT want or need “O-care” because I go to the VA, one of the best ‘care facilities’ around. The VA was one of the first “budget cuts” on his agenda. Just like the alleged “shutdown” was to save on spending – while spending MORE to fence-off the Veterans Memorials and hiring “security” to enforce the “closing of an OPEN AIR ( NOT FENCED ) area. POTUS is pouting like the spoiled child he is. < all in the name of "O-care", that the American people DO NOT want. ALSO = he spouts "gun control" for the American people while he gives 'weapons' to the Mexican cartel, Syrian (Al Qaeda) rebels and his Muslim Brotherhood. THESE should be impeachable offenses, but he is above the laws he mandates for the lower class.
Because we are vets I believe that leaves us out of the mix. I received some paperwork from that that stated this. Of course that could change tomorrow the things are going.
If young people don’t sign up for this mess the government will have to find a way to finance it.
Fred,
Obamacare doesn’t fix the healthcare system, it is already destroying it. Healthcare costs are already skyrocketing, and the first folks to sign up for it are in shock at the high monthly rates and the astronomical deductibles! And it’s insurance, not healthcare. What kind of healthcare will we get when doctors are retiring early, med school registration is down, and many others are opting out of providing care under its provisions? Plus, the whole plan was implemented because 30 million Americans didn’t have health insurance. Amazingly the latest government reports I’ve seen say that after Obamacare implementation, there will STILL be about 30 million Americans without healthcare insurance! They may not be the same 30 million folks, but the numbers aren’t improving, even after throwing TRILLIONS of dollars (that we don’t have) at the “problem.”
Banning guns doesn’t solve the gun violence, it enables it. Any rational person looking at the evidence could come to no other conclusion. Violent crime is down in “shall issue” states, and is at all-time highs in the cities/states with the strictest gun control laws. Only law-abiding citizens pay attention to the gun control laws. The criminals don’t. “Gun Free” zones simply create a target rich free fire zone for bad guys. And even if you managed to remove every gun on the face of the earth, violence would still continue. The biggest “school massacre” in US history was committed with bombs, not guns, as was the massacre at the Murrah Building in OKC. And of course the largest terrorist act in US history was committed by guns, wasn’t it? Oh. I forgot. The used box cutters and fists, then airliners. Yep. Gun control laws sure protected us there! Evil is evil, with or without guns. And good is good, likewise. Nobody needs fear a good man with a gun. The signs on doors banning guns should say “No Criminal May Bring A Gun Onto These Premises!” That’s what the intent is, isn’t it?
LGBT Americans have more rights in the US than any place I know about, though I admit I don’t know how they’d be treated in all countries, because I don’t care what kind of lifestyle they have enough to research it. Though I’d like to see them march in the Middle East. Wonder what would happen to them there? The last news report I heard was that they behead them. Or stone them to death. What I don’t like about LGBTs is the way they flaunt what they do in my face. I keep what I do in the bedroom private and would appreciate them doing the same.
While not perfect, racism and sexism is much better than it was 50 years ago, and *was* continuing to get better. What is not reported much is that both are much WORSE since President Obama took office. Especially racism. Every black friend I have has told me they feel a lot more tension now than 5 years ago, despite the fact that most support President Obama. And compare the number of females in important positions in the Obama and Clinton administrations with the females in important positions in the Bush, Bush & Reagan, administrations. The Dems put a few token females in mostly unimportant positions. The Republicans actually had more females in all positions, and MANY more in high, important positions. Which is the sexist party?
You obviously think highly of Norway and Denmark. If it’s so bad here, is there any reason you haven’t moved there? Not urging you to, just curious why not.
Mitch-
As for spiraling health care costs- we spend 17% of our GDP on health care. Every other developed country with various forms of universal health care are able to cover everyone at a much lower % of their GDP. The ACA is attempting to bring costs down because REAGAN gave us socialized medicine with EMTALA in 1986, by giving free ER care to anyone, which is the most expensive, least efficient way of delivering medicine. The GOP watched health care cost rise and more people be uninsured- the Democrats are working to try to make things better. Medicare was attacked and denigrated by the right until people realized it was much more cost-efficient and good for patients than private insurance. This is no different.
As for gun violence, there is a proven statistical correlation between more guns and more gun deaths. Every other developed country on earth has figured out how to prevent most mass shootings and reduce gun violence, while America (especially the South) sees extremely high gun violence rates, especially kids dying from accidents.
As for women, you have to be kidding. In the GOP-controlled house, they only have 20 women (8% of GOP members) while the Democrats have 62 members (29%). Furthermore, the GOP was blasted this year because they didn’t give any of their few women member any of the powerful chair positions- they gave them all to white men. They finally relented to public pressure and gave a relatively undesirable chair to a female member.
In the Senate, only 4 GOP members are female while the Democrats have 20 Senators. Obama signed the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and that the GOP opposed. The GOP is also full of geniuses like Todd Akin who think women don’t get pregnant from legitimate rape. It isn’t even close.
old republicans and their media minions are through….get on board with real conservatives…..
And yes, plenty of other countries treat LGBT citizens with equal rights and not as second-class citizens. From your comments, it’s clear you are not happy about the idea of LGBT Americans having their civil rights protected.
Did Ayn Rand say that before or after she cashed her Social Security checks and used Medicare?
1. What proof is there Ayn Rand did so? (Please don’t post a cheesy internet link to an article as proof)
2. Did Ayn Rand pay into Social Security and Medicare? If so, then she was just drawing out what was hers. That is especially pertinent if Rand’s participation in those programs were mandatory.
Why don’t you go hang out on a liberal website, Fred, if all you are going to do is ankle bite. If Ayn Rand was forced to participate in Social Security and Medicare, that just proves the point of her quote. By accepting any payments she would just be “asking permission” to dispense of her own money she paid in.
Fred:
Any substantial disagreement with the actual quote?
Boyd:
+1 on your comment.
Yeah, I think it’s gobbledygook eaten up by geniuses like Paul Ryan.
How about you? Have you never heard a slippery slope argument before? “Well, since we did this X, these could lead us to Y, which would be terrible!” Really compelling stuff.
Since you are isolated, in the short term, from facing the consequences of condoning authoritarianism, Fred, I just refer you to two references, one from fact and one from fiction:
The Belomor Canal (1931)
They say that in the first winter, 1931-1932, 100,000 died off — a number equal to the number of those who made up the full working force on the canal. And why not believe it? More likely it is an understatement: in similar conditions in wartime camps a death rate of one percent per day was commonplace and common knowledge. So on Belomor 100,000 could have died off in just three months plus. And then there was another whole summer, and another winter.
……….
And in the summer bones remained from corpses which had not been removed in time, and together with the gravel they got into the concrete mixer. And in. this way they got into the concrete of the last lock at the city of Belomorsk and will be preserved there forever.
……….
“It was very costly,” I said to the guard. “But it was built very quickly!” he answered me with self-assurance.
Your bones should be in it!

“Madam, when we’ll see men dying of starvation around us, your heart won’t be of any earthly use to save them. And I’m heartless enough to say that when you’ll scream, “But I didn’t know it!” – you will not be forgiven.” – Francisco D’Anconia
Boyd,I know you are scared of us becoming a more prosperous, more egalitarian society like Norway or Denmark. We have an increasingly liberal electorate who care about fixing our broken health care system, stopping the insane amount of gun violence, giving human rights to LGBT Americans, and remedying the effects of sexism and racism. This may sound appalling to you, but are you free to continue shouting in the echo chamber if that makes you happy.
As far as America “proseperity” goes…what a joke. Is our dollar pegged at 416 grains of silver as mandated by the Mint Act of 1792? No. Is it based on less grains of silver? No. Is it based on lesser metals like copper? No. Is it based on a fraction of metals held in reserve? No. Is our Dollars just printed out of nothing by the Treasury Department? No. Are our Dollars created by selling Treasury Bonds for collateral? No.
Are our Treasury Bonds sold to an entity that provide no collateral for purchasing them? Yes. Does that entity engage in siphoning off America wealth by loans, Currency Swayps, and Debt Swaps of American Dollars to other countries who do not look on America in a favorable light or have Republic or Democratic minds? Yes. Do these dubiously created “FRN” Dollars then get collected by the government in the form of taxes? Yes. Do our Federal Departments, with the dubious money, then, turn around and buy Treasury Bonds? Yes. This is called monetizing the debt.
If that sounds like a plan to stay wealthy and build a strong long lasting society I question your sanity. All these rights and programs you talk about are but a Utopian dream, if paid for, but since they are not really getting paid for, it amounts to a Communist/Socialist conspiracy.
At the end of the maladministration of Communist/Socialist countries is mass accusations blaming everyone but those who maladministered. I might be in an echo chamber…but at least my echos make sense.
