Sunday night brought hundreds of supporters to New York City’s Hilton Midtown in honor of Hillary Clinton’s 68th birthday. While Amy Schumer, John Legend, and Demi Lovato were just a few of the A-listers who attended the lavish event, Katy Perry was seen boasting on social media about Hillary hours prior to the celebration–where she performed at a Clinton rally in Iowa.
Is it coincidence that this elaborate, star-studded party came just days after the much-anticipated Benghazi hearing, which many have said left Clinton “unscathed“? I don’t think so.
The hashtag #imwithher has frequently been used to rally Clinton supporters on social media, but Sunday night #imwithher praise reached a new high. We all know the impact of celebrities on the average population. A single tweet from Katy Perry, who has 76.9 million Twitter followers, can rally thousands of votes. Add on the support of other celebrities, and we have just ushered in a new wave of Clinton supporters–many of whom have no idea why they would vote for Hillary Clinton. It’s a sad reality, but true nonetheless.
Because of this, I have ditched the popular majority and gathered my top 5 reasons to NOT vote Hillary Clinton in 2016:
1. She is a liar.
Hillary Clinton has been in the public eye for over 40 years, so her political skills are top notch. Her charismatic nature tends to shine over her conniving tongue, which explains why it is difficult for many to see her inability to speak the truth. She has consistently lied to the American people for nearly a decade, famously playing both sides of the fence in almost every situation. From the Whitewater scandal, to her blatant and most recent fabrication regarding the cause of the Benghazi attacks, her resume of lies grows more every day.
Hey, at least she’s consistent, right?
2. She’s for big government.
In an effort to keep this non-partisan, I have picked one of the issues that Hillary Clinton so proudly disregards: listening to the voice of the people. For those of us who have grown up in Obama’s delusional era of change, we can easily see that more government involvement equals less of a voice for the people. For eight years, the opinions of the American people has been stifled and neglected rather than lifted up. When you look outside of Hollywood’s political blinders, you will see how for this reason alone big government is bad.
Ultimately, the more that the federal government is allowed to override our civil and state governments, the less chance we will ever have at fixing our broken society.
3. Hillary is not a case for the feminist movement.
I see a lot of self-proclaimed feminists support Hillary Clinton’s campaign just because she’s a woman. On the surface, Clinton advocates for the same inequalities as the feminist movement. Behind closed doors, she is represents something completely different. Roger Touts’ book, The Clinton’s War on Women, is an eye-opening revelation of how the Clintons have used their political power to “systematically abuse women and others – sexually, physically, and psychologically”. If you think that a woman who covers up rape and lies with every breath will break the glass ceiling and put a stop to the war on women, you are gravely mistaken.
In her own words to sexual assault survivors, “Don’t let anyone silence your voice. You have the right to be heard… to be believed.” As long as you aren’t unfortunate enough to be caught in bed with her husband, that is.
4. She is incompetent.
Hillary Clinton’s time in Washington has proven to be less than productive. When she served as Secretary of State, we lost control of the Middle East and created a vacuum that ISIS now inhabits. She failed in her attempt to “reset” Russian policy agreements, and now Russia’s human rights violations have multiplied. She delayed in extending help to Syrian rebels, leading to not only 70,000 dead Syrians, but an open window for the Syrian government to seek assistance elsewhere. She also disregarded 600 pleas for assistance in Benghazi, which led to terror attacks on our facilities and four dead Americans on foreign soil.
America is crumbling as a world power, and Hillary Clinton was a big factor in facilitating that decline.
5. She is backed by President Obama.
If you favor Obama administration’s last eight years of “change”, then Hillary Clinton is your ideal candidate. If you are smart, then you will recognize this administration’s detrimental affects on America’s foreign and domestic policies. Hillary Clinton has long been a partner-in-crime to President Obama, so don’t be fooled by her campaign’s recent pullback from the current administration. It’s a political move, one that Clinton is wise to make, but one that doesn’t change the facts: She is not a friend to American democracy.
Hillary Clinton is not America’s future, and I for one choose to stand on the side of liberty, patriotism, and true change. I am #NOTWithHer, and you shouldn’t be either.
