According to the Guttmacher Institute, Hispanic patients made up 25% of all abortions performed in 2014. This is despite the fact that Hispanics make up only 16.3% of the general population. As a Hispanic woman, I believe that this is no coincidence. Leftist organizations see women like me as a cog in the progressive cultural war machine, an unfortunate part of which is “Big Abortion.”
If you need evidence, take a look at the biggest name in the industry, Planned Parenthood. The abortion giant seems to use Latinas and other minority groups as pawns, assuming that their interests should include blind support for the pro-abortion cause. Given their infamously questionable ethics, would it surprise anyone to learn that the prevalence of Planned Parenthood surgical abortion clinics in minority neighborhoods may be nothing more than a predatory tactic designed to target vulnerable groups, Latinos included?
Tweets such as the one shared below imply that, once again, the Left’s mission is to create propaganda intended to conflate progressive interests with minority status.

Some may say that they are the only source of healthcare for many low-income and/or minority women. This is false: Planned Parenthood is just one of many groups who serve these communities. But unlike other community health clinics, Planned Parenthood can afford to roll out aggressive national campaigns that instill this false idea. This is due to the fact that they rely on government assistance to subsidize basic services—ones that, conveniently, can be found in any other community health clinic—which frees up funds that can be shifted toward abortions.
If all of this is true, then what is the end game? Planned Parenthood’s Hispanic outreach initiatives lead me to believe that they see this group as a market ripe for exploitation. In addition to being promoted as if they were the only source of comprehensive health services for low-income Latina women, their aim seems to be to increase Hispanic participation in the abortion industry.
You wouldn’t expect an organization that promises compassionate family planning to poach clients from vulnerable communities to keep their abortion business thriving. But I suppose nothing says “care no matter what” like seeing your clients as dollar signs and using deceptive scare tactics to rope them in.
