The Left’s Pattern of Excusing Evil

It’s been a couple of weeks since President Obama went to the give the commencement address at the United States Coast Guard Academy, where he labeled “climate change” as a key threat to national security.  In today’s world, according to Obama, the Coast Guard must live up to it’s motto of Semper Paratus by always being ready to not only  defend the nation’s maritime borders against terrorists, drug and human traffickers, but along with the rest of the military must now deal with climate change. Most level-headed readers realize the point of the military is to defend the country against hostile threats, not worry...

How Much is Enough?

Almost as soon as the Amtrak train carrying over 200 people derailed in Philadelphia there was a knee-jerk reaction by some to blame the derailment on the lack of investment to infrastructure. The derailment left eight people dead and the idea that if only Congress spent more money on cross country railways, those eight people would still be alive is as absurd as it is disgraceful.  The train entered the turn going 106 miles per hour in a turn with a speed limit of 50 miles per hour.  Any train going around a turn at more then twice the speed...

Non-Citizens Shouldn’t Vote: Why Citizenship Matters

Voting and voting registration have always been susceptible to fraud, whether its dead people voting or having registration forms sent to pets.  Voter fraud cases have been one of the main reasons, if not the main reason, why many states have chosen to pass laws requiring voter identification and sought to clean up their voting rolls.  However, if you thought the left-wing outrage to Voter ID was bad, the latest left-wing idea on voting rights is worse: the left-wing city government in New York City is considering allowing non-citizens to vote in local elections. Non-citizens voting is a terrible idea.  Support for...

The Media Has it Backwards on Geller

By now, almost everyone is familiar with the recent shooting in Garland, Texas, where ISIS-inspired terrorists attempted to carry out an attack at a ‘Draw Mohammed’ contest held by Pamela Geller.  Almost immediately after the event, the media raced to ask questions such as, “why would Geller hold such an event?“ and “does free speech cover hate speech?“ The question the media should be asking is, “why do some Muslims consider it acceptable to respond to criticism or negative publicity with mass murder or attempted mass murder?”  Why does a cartoon drawing warrant the death penalty?  Mormons and Christians do not respond to criticism...

The Failure of the Two-State Solution

Of all the things wrong with the Middle East today, the one thing that has the Obama administration up in arms is not the Ayatollah chanting, “Death to America.” Instead, it is Benjamin Netanayahu’s election statement that the situation on the ground will have to change in order for him to be willing to support the creation a Palestinian state. Netanyahu’s clarification that he supports a two-state solution, however, was not good enough for the Obama Administration. Over the years, society has developed a blind devotion to the idea that the two-state solution is the answer to the problems between Israel and its neighbors.  However,...
