It is a fallacy that we learn morals by argument and reason. We learn what is moral from what we see around us, and what we are taught when we are young. We learn through example. The American Founders looked back to the noble men of Greece and Roman, recorded in Plutarch’s Lives. Men like Cicero, Cato, Brutus and Numa were among those they admired. It was not for nothing that the Federalist Papers were signed with the nome de plume Publius. Christians look back to the moral examples of Jesus, Paul, Augustine, Luther and Wesley. Jews admire Maimonedes, Akiva...Read More

Last week, the National Prayer Breakfast was held in Washington D.C. In light of recent atrocities committed by ISIS, Obama discussed religious violence. He scolded, “lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.” The fatuous ignorance of these statements is almost beyond measure. Just when I think the Left can’t get any more insufferable, they reach...Read More
Fox News has once again become the focus of left-wing mockery, as Fox was forced to apologize for misstatements made regarding Muslims in England and France. These mistakes took the form of mentioning the existence of “no-go zones,” areas where tourists, white Europeans, civil, medical personnel, and police authorities are not welcome. Much of the world is still reeling from the events of last Wednesday, when two French Muslims entered the offices of the satire magazine Charlie Hebdo and began shooting. The attack was brutal, as the attackers killed 10 employees including the magazine’s editor and four cartoonists. The BBC reports that the attackers declared that they had, “avenged the Prophet Muhammad.” Upon leaving the building, the gunmen engaged in a shoot-out with Parisian military police. They concluded their attack by shooting an officer as he lay on pavement, begging for his life. The dead policeman was, reportedly, a Muslim. The shooters, brothers Said and...Read More
Over the last year, there has been a riotous debate over America’s rape culture. According to liberal sources, our society suffers from an epidemic of rapes which are under-reported to police, women are sexualized by the media (chiefly by men), and the mistreatment of women is normalized. When women accuse men of rape, the victims are blamed and police are apathetic when pursuing rape allegations. This culture of rape has become one of the latest crusades by the feminist left: convicted of the virtue of their ideas about rape, feminist activists have gone on the march to stamp out...Read More
