Losing Afghanistan

Tweet A secret U.S. program has released an undisclosed number of terrorists over the past several years from a military prison in Afghanistan, but not to worry. They were only released if they promised to give up violence. What a relief. Unfortunately though, this has been done before. Prisoners promised to stop their violence as a condition for release from Guantanamo Bay. It didn’t work. But the Obama Administration decided to try again. In order to end the war by the predetermined deadline, Obama imposed a deadline removing all U.S. combat troops by 2014; the releases were practically necessary....

Can We Have Our Drone Back?

Tweet Starting at an early age, we are told to work out our problems with others by talking to them. Although this tactic might work on the elementary school playground, international relations are slightly more complicated.  Dealing with rogue nations complicates matters even further. State sponsors of terror are impossible to talk to and the United States should not even attempt to maintain diplomatic relations with them. It only flatters the ego-centric countries and their world leaders, legitimizing their government. This has been common sense for all of Obama’s predecessors. Terrorist sponsoring countries, such as Iran and North Korea,...

What’s Really At Stake in 2012

Tweet Liberals create slogans because they can’t create results. They are great at manipulating language to stir up emotions that distract from dealing with the real issues facing Americans. We have witnessed that all too much in the past month with the ‘War on Women,’ manipulation of the Trayvon Martin case, and the touting of the “Buffett Rule” as a way to correct our flawed tax system. Alleging that Conservatives are waging a ‘War on Women’ stems from the complete ignorance liberals have of conservative thought. Being pro-life and pro-religious liberty does not inherently make one anti-women. RNC Chairman...

Obama’s Version of “American Values”

Tweet President Obama, in his State of the Union address this past January, promised to focus more on “nation building at home” rather than abroad. In regards to the Arab Spring, he stated, “While it is ultimately up to the people of the region to decide their fate, we will advocate for those values that have served our own country so well.” What an excellent principle. I completely agree with the President on this one. American values that have made us successful include our freedoms, protection of our unalienable rights, entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong sense of morality rooted...

Greek Exceptionalism

“I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism.” President Obama probably regrets praising Greek exceptionalism. Greece’s GDP shrunk 6.8% in 2011. Their unemployment rate stands just below 21%. Bondholders took a 70% loss on their holdings with the debt swap deal that was agreed upon last week. A transitional government now rules the country, which was formerly touted as the birthplace of democracy. This did not come from nowhere. A quarter of their citizens pay no taxes whatsoever. Government spending on social protection and...
