Georgia Moves to Require Drug Tests for Welfare Recipients, Faces Lawsuit

Tweet In 2010, the state of Florida successfully passed legislation requiring welfare recipients to submit to a drug test in order to continue receiving governmental assistance.  Since then, the state has decreased the number of applicants by 48 percent and saved just under two million dollars.  It is only a matter of time before more states catch onto this age of new fiscal restraints. Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has modeled this Florida law in his state.  In a press release from his office on Monday, Governor Deal praised Florida for their success and defended the law in his state...

Castro, Chavez and the Danger in Our Backyard: Part 1

Tweet For years, brutal regimes have popped up in the Caribbean, Central and South America, flourishing throughout the hemisphere like flowers whose pollen is carried from place to place, scattered by the wind. America is battling a highly-visible enemy two thousand miles away and has taken its eyes off of the threat right in our backyard.  Please do not misunderstand me — international terrorism is a scourge that must be dealt with — but in doing so, we cannot take our eye off the ball.  In the jungles of the Caribbean, Central and South America a storm is brewing...

And Justice for All: Rush in the Crosshairs

Rush Limbaugh came under fire for his rather harsh comments regarding Sandra Fluke.  As unfortunate as the comments were, I think there are a few things that we should examine. First what did Rush say exactly?  Here is the transcript: “What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She’s having so much sex she can’t afford...

Breitbart: Saying Goodbye to a Legend

Tweet In every generation, a few special people step forward and do great things.  America lost one of those people today.  Andrew Breitbart was one of my biggest influences in politics and the person I looked up to most.  I got a chance to meet him at CPAC 2012 just a few short weeks ago, and it feels like more of an honor now then it did then. Breitbart always inspired me with his tenacity and fearlessness.  When no one else was willing to speak out because of the possibility for bad PR, Andrew spoke truth anyway.  He was...

In Defense of Pat Buchanan and the First Amendment

Tweet There is a cancer sucking the life out of America and, although we all know what it is, we on the right allow it to continue to grow.  Andrew Breitbart recently referred to it as an “impossible standard” and “Saul Alinsky bull***t.”  He isn’t far off in either case. Patrick J. Buchanan has been a patriot and a servant to this nation for decades, serving under Presidents Nixon, Ford and Reagan.  He was an original host of CNN’s acclaimed show Crossfire, is the co-founder of The American Conservative, and has published in countless journals and publications.  Buchanan has written ten books, six of which are New York Times bestsellers.  He ran for president three times and proved to be a viable candidate each time. Pat has been an MSNBC contributor since 2002 and has never changed his views or stance on anything; never was there a problem until now.  Since the publication of Buchanan’s last book Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?, there have been countless calls from the left to silence Buchanan by removing him from his spot at MSNBC, and, as of Thursday afternoon, the Anti-Deformation League and other groups like Media Matters accomplished just that.  You want to know why they silenced Pat Buchanan?  Because they are afraid he is right.  Liberal groups seek to end the argument by silencing their opposition.  The...
