Editor-in-Chief Zachary Freeman (@ZacharyGFreeman) is a Business Administration major currently residing outside Nashville, Tennessee.  Zachary Freeman experienced extraordinary liberal bias and academic discrimination at the government-funded University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and founded TheCollegeConservative.

After founding TCC, Zachary appeared multiple times as a commentator on the FoxNews Channel and on other nationally syndicated radio programs before accepting a role as the Editor for Glenn Beck’s Mission Report in 2012.  That same year, he also served as the Senior Producer in the short-length documentary film, Newtok Moves.  Currently, Freeman is employed as a lobbyist and works for a state-level family policy council.

davidgiffinDeputy Editor-in-Chief David Giffin (@D_Giffin) is a student at the Wake Forest University School of Law. He recently graduated with a Masters in Theological Studies from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and earned his B.A. in Religious Studies with a minor in Ethics at Emory University.

In addition to writing for TCC, Giffin wrote weekly columns for The Emory Wheel student newspaper and served as the Candler representative to Emory’s Graduate Student Government Association.  As an undergrad, David participated in a wide variety of activities ranging from choral music and student theater to politics, and helped found two separate student organizations on the Emory campus. At Wake Forest Law, David currently serves as the President of the school’s chapter of the Federalist Society.

amylutzAssistant Editor for Content Amy Lutz (@amylutz4) is a graduate of Saint Louis University.  Lutz has been a contributor at TheCollegeConservative since 2012, and has served as the Chair of the Saint Louis University College Republicans, Vice-Chair of the Missouri College Republicans, a policy intern at the Show-Me Institute, and as an intern at the Dana Loesch Show.  Amy grew up in the small town of Atchison, Kansas, but has followed current events most of her life, especially those revolving around illegal immigration and the Constitution. In her spare time, she enjoys watching Fox News and following politics, reading, baking, watching movies with friends, playing piano, and obsessing over the New Orleans Saints.

trestonwheatAssistant Editor for Research Treston Wheat (@TrestonWheat) joins TheCollegeConservative as a doctoral candidate at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.  He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science and History at the University of Tennessee and his M.A. in International Affairs from Georgetown University.

In addition to completing internships with the American Enterprise Institute and the Heritage Foundation, Treston was a contributor to TheCollegeConservative from 2012-13 and joined the staff in 2014.  His hometown is Knoxville, Tennessee.

Assistant Editor Kevin Reagan (@O_JoseCanYouSeejoins TheCollegeConservative from Sydney, Australia. He is currently a postgraduate student at the University of Sydney, working towards a Master of International Security degree. Reagan graduated The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 2013 with a degree in International Affairs focusing in Conflict and Security & The Middle East. While in Washington, he completed internships with the Heritage Foundation, the Republican National Committee, and law firm specializing in intellectual property. During undergrad, Reagan wrote for his campus publication, the GW Patriot and also served as an editor for The Washington Fancy.  Reagan is a native of Atlanta, Georgia.

Assistant Editor for Social Media Elissa Roberson (@ElissaRoberson) is a History major at Copper Mountain Community College in Joshua Tree, California and has been with TheCollegeConservative since it first launched in November 2011. When first studying history, Elissa wanted to become a historian along the lines of military or air and space history due to her involvement in the United State Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol where she was a Flight Officer and her squadron’s historian. Once she graduates, she is considering staying in politics as a writer or continuing her education.

Elissa first became involved in politics in high school when she was secretary for her Generation Joshua club chapter where she first realized the necessity for young people standing up for Conservative principles. Once she entered college, she founded and chaired a Young American’s for Freedom chapter with the goal of spreading the Conservative message on campus amongst her fellow Hispanic classmates. Since writing for TheCollegeConservative, Elissa has appeared on numerous radio shows, online podcasts, and was a featured activist for Smart Girl Politics’ “Youth In Action” interview series as well as an Eagle Forum Collegians scholar and speaker during the Eagle Forum’s Collegian Summit in Washington, D.C. earlier this year. She has also helped with many online initiatives and blogs sites as well as worked on campaigns during the 2012 campaign season.

elizabethmarcelloAssistant Editor for Development Elizabeth Marcello (@Eliz_Mariah) joins TheCollegeConservative as a sophomore at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Originally from Mechanicsville, Virginia, Elizabeth has interned for the campaign of Senator Ryan McDougle as well as for the offices of Lt. Governor Bill Bolling and the Executive Mansion of Virginia. She is currently a member of the College Republicans, and in her free time, enjoys playing the ukulele with friends. Assistant Editor for Technology and Recruiting Danny Huizinga (@HuizingaDanny) is currently studying at Baylor University, pursuing three business majors in Economics, Finance, and Business Fellows with minors in mathematics and political science. Although originally from the Chicago area, he is a Texas resident.

In his free time from serving as the President of the Baylor College Republicans and singing in a men’s choir, Danny writes a political blog called Consider Again located at consideragain.com. He is syndicated at Communities at WashingtonTimes.com, TheCollegeConservative, the Baylor Lariat, and other political organizations’ websites.

nika anschuetzAssistant Editor for Digital Media Nika Anschuetz (@nlanschuetz) joins TheCollegeConservative from Waynesburg University.  She is pursuing a degree in Communication with a concentration in electronic media. She joined the TCC staff in 2014 and is responsible for the production of digital media. She currently serves as the News Director of WCTV, a P.E.G. station produced by Waynesburg University students and broadcasted by the Borough of Waynesburg. She found her love for politics in a prestigious scholarship program at Waynesburg. The Stover Center for Constitutional Studies and Moral Leadership has given her the opportunity to meet with esteemed politicians, lawyers, judges and entrepreneurs such as: Justice Scalia, former Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Gov. Tom Corbett (PA), Scott Bullock, Dr. Bundy, Mara Liasson and more. She believes the future of conservatism lies in the younger generations.

 

 

tannerbrumbargerAssistant Editor for Distribution and Quality Control Tanner Brumbarger (@Brumbarger) joins TheCollegeConservative as an Economics major at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. Tanner served as the Editor-in-Chief of TCC’s sister site, The High School Conservative before coming on board as a contributor at TCC.  Tanner has extensive background in marketing and technology solutions, and joined the staff of TCC in 2014.  He is a native of Carmel, Indiana.
